Source-reportedMay be from earlier *π π΄ππ΄πΉπΊπ° (*wΔreika), where the first part probably corresponds to *π π΄ππ΄πΉ (*wΔrei, βtruthβ) (as found in the word π°π»π»π°π π΄ππ΄πΉ (allawΔrei)). from *π π΄ππ (*wΔrs) + -π΄πΉ (-ei). The change of π΄πΉ to π΄ in the spelling of -π΄πΉ (-ei) would then either be reflective of a sound merger or a simple scribal error. The -πΊπ° may be an an-stem variant of *-πΏπΊπ (*-uks, βdiminutive suffixβ).
